New Process for Hiring Foreign Workers in
Vital National Infrastructure Projects in Israel
|
|
The Population Authority has introduced a
new procedure allowing the employment of foreign workers for projects outlined
in a recent directive, such as those related to Electrical Switching,
Electrical Transfer, Power Stations, and Electricity Storage Facilities.
|
|
|
|
This offers contractors in these industries
potential advantages including significantly lower wage requirements compared
to expert salary levels.
However, compliance with various
prerequisites is necessary, including specific qualifications for foreign
workers and meeting application criteria such as depositing bank guarantees and
ensuring direct employment.
Moreover, a maximum quota of 1,950 workers
applies on a first-come, first-served basis. Processing time is variable,
adjudicated by an interministerial committee. Should these conditions be
pertinent to your company, please contact your client manager at KTA to explore
the available options.

The entry of foreign nationals into Israel is subject to the discretion of border control officials. They assess the purpose of the visit and determine the appropriate visa type required for entry.
If there is a mismatch between the visa sought and the purpose of the visit, entry into Israel may be denied. A frequently encountered scenario involves a foreign national attempting to enter Israel as a visitor, while their intention is to engage in proactive work that necessitates a work visa.
