The Ministry of Interior has announced an extension of the submission deadline for foreign employees in the non-expert category within the Industry sector until April 14, 2024

For employers who have already received a recommendation from the Ministry of Economy and Welfare, the new deadline for submitting the work permit applications is now April 14, 2024. Beyond this date, the Ministry of Interior will not accept any further applications for work permits in this category.

Furthermore, it is imperative for employers who have obtained employment permits to be aware of the expiration date stipulated within the permit. As per Section 11 of the permit, if a company fails to utilize the permit within 90 days of issuance, it will expire. Consequently, the company will be unable to employ the foreign workers specified in the permit.

New Deposit Obligations: Infrastructure Projects

The Israeli government has recently expanded the existing deposit obligations for employers of foreign workers in the infrastructure sector.

This updated regulation has overhauled the mechanism for deducting deposit funds from foreign workers who do not adhere to departure timelines.
